It’s been a little while since i’ve done a bushwick show — this one should be great.
Bad Feminist is a great collection of essays, and i figure saying yes to this invitation to read some essays and write a song in response is a good way to bully myself into making some music.
The Bushwick Book Club Seattle Presents:
This show is one of the highlights of my year!
Once again, the amazing band and incredible line up of special guests will take over the Neptune Theater for a fantastic night of music.
Get your tickets here, this show will sell out.
As always, all proceeds benefit Northwest Harvest.
So thrilled (and terrified) to be part of this amazing event!
Participating artists will have 12 hours to write a brand new piece of music that will then be rehearsed and performed by a 10 piece band the following day at the Royal Room.
There will be 2 shows, one at 8:00 pm and another at 10:30 pm.
More info on the 14/48 projects here.
I'll go on at 9 pm sharp, so don't be late!
The cover is 8 bucks, which not only gets you in the door, but also buys you a copy of the Ball of Wax 49 CD.
You can also check out my song, along with a lovely review at the Ball of Wax Blog.
Tea With Mr. Patton is my vocal duo with the bombastic Beth Fleenor. She and I bring our voices, our loopers, our pet robots, our singing bowls and other such things to the table and create wild meditative party monster soundscapes. This show will be at the Spite House, and as always, tea will be served.
Schedule at Spite House is as follows:
8:30pm: Some music to whet your palate. Most likely featuring the fantastic Stephen Fandrich on piano.
9:30pm: Tea With Mr. Patton
Onward: Spontaneously formed improvising ensembles.
The Spite House is located at 1513 14th Avenue; the house behind the brown wooden fence on 14th between Pike and Pine on Capitol Hill. There is a suggested donation of $20. Not only will we be serving tea, but the Spite House provides a generous layout of snacks and beverages to boot.
Hope very much to see you there!
I am happy to be performing as part of Seattle's Tribute to The Last Waltz again this year. Killer band, killer guests, all around great time. More info below:
